About
Shira Lankin Sheps, MSW
As a writer, photographer and trained clinical social worker, I have been looking for a project to inspire me. The Layers Project is an opportunity to help other people begin to embrace the nuance and complexity in their lives.
I graduated from Stern College for Women with a BA in English Literature and an MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work. After school, I worked in marketing for an addiction recovery program, eating disorder recovery program, and consulting for other not-for profits.

Last year, I started a blog www.emunabalaylot.com where I write about my journey of recovery from chronic illness.
This year embracing my new health, I started my own portrait photography business Shira Sheps Photography.

I live in Bergen County, NJ with my husband, who I love and like- and our two wonderful children who bring me more joy than I can contain.

I am grateful to G-d for giving me the ability to work on this project. I look forward to sharing the joy of connecting with others on a deeper level, to promote healing of all kinds.
